释义 | Dear friends from English speaking areas: As I am now teaching Chinese students English, I adopt an approach with the concern of both content and language, which we call “write to learn”. I have personally designed it (or scaffold it) --by the name of “Recording Reading Process”(RRP)-- as requiring the students to write down whatever is in their mind while reading a passage—any doubts, questions, etc. together with their solutions. It is somehow similar to the “THINK-ALOUD” method. But the problem with me is that, I don’t have the time to read through all students’ writings--it is too much work, and what’s more, I don’t have the native proficiency to guarantee a native-like correction/feedback—as we can never be native-like sensitive in a foreign language. I think sometimes my foreign colleagues may probably face this same dilemma. So why don’t we change our students, either with the purpose to enhance their interest in writing, or to provide them access to correct form of the target language? There is surely much room for this international cooperation in language teaching. It’s cheap, convenient, interesting and effective. For the time being, my students are posting their writing in a public website: http://www.hudong.com/g/cew If you have students learning Chinese and you don't like the idea of having to correct the students' writing filled with simple errors, we can start this peer-evaluation exchange programme. It will be both beneficial to our students and to our academy. If you are not familiar with this site, you can email me for detailed information by dtizh@yahoo.com . Or, if you have some other foreign interactive writing spaces, you can invite us to join you. Regards! Deng |
