The paragraph 13 is so hard to understand clearly at my level. I really do not know what dose “folks achieve great things and nonetheless do not show off about it “mean. I find the answer in paragraph 15. The quiet mother is just the folks that the author point to. That is a kind of show off technique. It called self-restraint showoffs. Self-restraint showoffs show off with a quiet way. They would get praise when other people find they are so achievement. People admire them easily in this situation. The quiet woman never even mentioned it. I don’t know the “awe” mean. I know it is equal to “filled with admiration” and “astonishment”. Or it has heavier emotion in it. The dictionary proved that my guess is correct. |
