When I read this paragraph I find some Sentence Confused me. The writer said “I will lay my cards right on the table.” I do not understande it clear. Cards always mean any of a range of games played with cards, such as poker, whist and bridge,or (a piece of) thick stiff paper. But I thank here is another meaning. In may view, lay cards right on the table is Similar as show off one’s success and triumph. He want everyone know what he had done. For example, just like the first time some poems of his were published. |
