1968年9月出生，安徽怀宁人。重庆市第二届学术带头人后备人选。1990年6月本科专业毕业，获学士学位后在基层工作。1999年9月至2004年6月于华中农业大学攻读硕士和博士学位，获博士学位后任教至今。2005年破格晋升副教授。 从事分子生物学和动物分子遗传与育种等方面的教学科研工作。主讲《分子遗传学》、《分子生物学》、《分子生物学实验》等研究生和本科生课程。目前主要开展动物表观遗传学、动物优质基因的鉴定和基因调控网络的研究。主持和主研了9项国家级和重庆市级等科研项目，发表论文30篇，其中SCI文章13篇，获得重庆市科技进步奖二等奖1项。
