英国演员，1944年生于曼彻斯特。1975年投身演艺界。他出演过最著名的角色是《泰坦尼克号》中的Edward John Smith船长，《指环王》中的塞奥顿国王（King Théoden）和《迫切的任务》中的San Quentin监狱的看守。希尔是唯一一个不止一次出演过获得过11项奥斯卡奖的影片（共有3部）的演员，也是两个一次以上出演过创下10亿美元以上票房纪录的演员（另一个是奥兰多·布鲁姆）。
