释义 | Wyong StationWyong railway station is located in Wyong on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The station is a side station with three platforms, including one for terminating intercity trains from Sydney, half of which terminate here (the other half continuing to Newcastle). Ourimbah School was the first school in what is now Wyong Shire and was built in 1863 on the site of the present railway station. In 1886 the school was moved to the opposite side of the road. Wyong Station was opened in 1887. However, it was the completion of the Sydney to Newcastle railway in 1889 passing through Wyong, which really started significant expansion and development in the area. The railway enabled the growth of the timber industry with an immense demand for railway sleepers and the transportation to ship it. Today at Wyong Station there are up to eight trains coming through each hour at peak times and four at other times. Wyong Railway station is a major connection of the Central Coast with bus and taxi connections. The station is attended by station staff and is staffed from the first train service to the last. Wyong Station is wheelchair accessible, which means it has either a lift, level access or a compliant ramp (1:14) from street level to all platforms, and a portable platform to train ramp.
