This is the same park that appeared in _Brotherhood of Justice (1986)_ (also starring Kiefer Sutherland). The Boardwalk also was seen in the Dirty Harry sequel Sudden Impact (1983) and Harold and Maude (1971). The movie was originally written as a bunch of "Goonie-type 5th-6th grade kid vampires". Joel Sheumacher liked the title but hated the concept, so he changed it.
