1995年18岁之龄以话题之作「不安」出道，曾与砂原良德、降谷建志、DJ KRUSH、SILENT POETS、satoshi tomie等潮流巨匠合作，音乐生活足迹遍及巴黎、纽约、伦敦与柏林。

ACO也曾是英国摇滚女歌手碧玉爱用服饰品牌“Marjan Pejoski”的御用model，在音乐与时尚界都有其不可忽略的独特地位。

ACO was born in 爱知県 in 1977, she made her debut in 1995 with the R&B pop single 不安なの. In 1999, she gained mainstream popularity after appearing as a guest vocalist on Dragon Ash's smash hip-hop single Grateful Days. Subsequent albums show the singer exploring different musical styles, with the albums absolute ego and material displaying trip-hop influences. absolute ego was produced by ex-Denki Groove keyboardist, Yoshinori Sunahara and the other side of absolute ego album contains remixes by Tricky, DJ Krush and Silent Poets, among others.

In 2003, after a 2 year hiatus, she enlisted the help of the avant-garde audio-visual performance group portable[k]ommunity for her Bjork-sounding album irony.

Aco, a Japanese R&B singer, had released several albums but wasn't well known in Japan until the chart topping May 1999 single "Grateful Days," a song by Dragon Ash (a Japanese hip hop outfit) featuring Aco and Japanese rapper Zeebra.

Her December 1999 album Absolute Ego was very successful, and showed the influence of the Bristol sound. The remix album The Other Side of Absolute Ego, released the following year, featured remixes of Aco songs by such artists as Yoshinori Sunahara (who produced several of the tracks on Absolute Ego), DJ Krush, and Tricky. Produced largely by Adrian Sherwood, the album Material was released in 2001. Irony, released in 2003, was produced by Taeji Sawai, Aco, and the Icelandic project Múm.
