学校简介

武汉外国语学校江南分校，是在武汉市人民政府亲切关怀下，经市教育局、洪山区教育局批准，由武汉城投集团与武汉外国语学校联合创办的一所集初中、小学于一体的现代化全日制寄宿学校。

学校现有学生800余人，教职工100余人。其中研究生学历占12.76%, 本科以上学历占教师总人数的93.62%；特级教师1人，省骨干教师1名，市学科带头人2人，中高级职称13人。学校已初步形成一支以高学历、有一定教学经验的青年教师为主体，高职称有丰富教学经验的中老年教师为骨干的教师队伍。

学校秉承武汉外国语学校“努力培养走向世界和未来人才”的教育理念，全面实施小规模、精品化、高质量、稳步、健康发展方略。在保证各学科教学高质均衡发展的基础上，坚持以外语教学为特色，有效开发学生潜能，突出学生人格的塑造和创新能力的培养，使学生成为人格健全、学力宽厚、具有世界眼光的现代人才。

Wuhan Foreign Languages School Jiangnan Branch, founded jointly by Wuhan Urban Construction Investment &Development(Group) Co. Ltd and Wuhan Foreign Languages School, is a modern full-time boarding school which includes two parts, primary school and junior middle school. And its founding was strongly supported by Wuhan Municipal Government and approved by the Education Bureau of Wuhan City and Hongshan District.

Now the school has more than 700 students and employs over 100 people on its staff in which the number of post graduates accounts for 12.7% of the total and graduates and post graduates 93.62%. Among the teachers, there are 1 super-senior teacher, 1 provincial backbone teacher, 2 leading teachers in subjects of Wuhan City and 13 senior teachers of middle school. Thus the school has a good team of teachers in which the number of the young with high educational background and basic teaching experience constitutes the majority and the old and the middle aged with high professional post and rich experience play a leading role.

In accordance with the concept of WFLS “Try to cultivate talented persons facing the world and future”, the school carries out a strategy of “Small size, Best quality, Development in a steady and healthy way”. And it also holds on to its characteristic of foreign languages teaching on the basis of guarantee of “high quality and balanced development in the teaching of all subjects.” What’s more, it stresses the development of the students’ potential talent, improvement of the personality and cultivation of their innovation in order to enable them to become modern talents with sound mind, profound learning and world-wide foresight.

学校现况

改制更名

武汉外国语学校江南分校将于2009年7月转为公办，更名为武汉市洪山实验外国语学校。

学校规模

现有小学部13个教学班，491名学生，初中部6个教学班，222名学生。

招生范围

雄楚大道以南、肿瘤医院路以东、电力疗养院路以西

改制缘由

该校从成立之初就确立了以外语为特色的办学宗旨，并经常聘请武汉外校的老师交流授课。附近居民甚至区内其他地方的居民都慕名而来，想进这所洪山区的“外校”。可是，由于学校的民办性质，相对于公办学校来说，高昂的学费让不少家长止步。

近几年来，名都花园小区及周边小区入住人口不断增多，适龄儿童剧增，为了缓解这一地区的入学矛盾，经反复研究决定，将该校转为公办，按就近划片原则对口免试招生，并按公办学校相关政策收取费用。

转制后的学校将于今年9月开始招生，原外校学生办学模式和收费采用老办法。
