医学博士。现任西安交通大学医学院教授、博士生导师。西安交通大学医学院副院长、心血管研究中心执行主任。曾任北京大学生理学教授、博士生导师。北京大学心血管研究所副所长，北京大学糖尿病中心副主任。

1986年西安医科大学研究生毕业，1994年获北京医科大学医学博士学位。曾在日本北里大学、德国柏林自由大学、美国印地安娜大学、加州大学从事分子生物学研究。2000年起任加州大学研究助理教授。2003年8月回国任北京大学心血管研究所教授、副所长；糖尿病中心副主任，生理学系和病理生理学系博士生导师；教育部分子心血管重点实验室血管分子生物学及生物工程学研究室主任。2010年入选陕西省百人计划，受聘至西安交通大学医学院教授，博士生导师，心血管研究中主任，医学院副院长。近年来所领导的研究团队在心血管及代谢性疾病分子机制方面作出的一系列原创性工作发表于《Circulation》、《Hepatology》、《PNAS》等杂志。目前为国家自然科学基金委重大项目《代谢性核受体与糖脂代谢调控的分子机制》首席科学家；科技部“973”项目（二型糖尿病血管病变分子机制）课题负责人。兼任《Circulation Journal》、《PPAR Research》副主编和《J Diabetes》等编委,并担任多个国家基金项目的评审专家。

核受体转录因子（PPAR, LXR,PXR等）；血管生物学；糖脂代谢的转录调节

1） 动脉粥样硬化及血管再狭窄分子病理机制；

2） 糖尿病血管病变的分子机制；

3） 机械-生物信号传导机制。
