启秀实验中学始建于1905年，前身是启秀女中。学校地处环境高雅的思南路，毗邻孙中山故居、复兴公园，是一所具有深厚人文底蕴的百年老校。

学校具有光荣的革命传统，早在1938年就建立了中共地下党支部。中华职业妇女俱乐部主席茅丽瑛烈士曾就读和任教于本校。学校现为上海市民族精神教育试点校、上海师范大学外国语学院教育基地、上海市爱心助老特色基地、卢湾区青少年爱国主义教育基地、卢湾区体育传统学校，曾获市、区德育工作先进集体称号，是卢湾区文明单位。校风纯正，办学质量稳定，连续数年被评为区教育教学质量表彰、表扬单位，家长对学校办学满意率保持在98%以上。

学校注重教师专业发展，已基本形成一支师德素养好、业务水平高、教学能力强的教师队伍。近年来，学校在深化课程改革方面作了积极有益的探索，促进了办学质量的提高，特别是英语教学具有明显优势。学校通过聘请外籍教师上口语课、在部分学科开展双语教学、举办英语节等多种途径，营造浓郁的英语学习氛围，提高学生英语口语能力，各年级英语教学质量位居区内同类学校前列，英语教研组多次被评为区示范教研组。

Qixiu　Experimental　Middle　School　was　founded　in　1905,　it　was　originally　called　Qixiu　Women's　School.　The　school　is　located　at　the　graceful　Sinan　Road.　It　abuts　on　the　Former　Residence　of　Sun　Zhongshan　and　Revival　Park.　It　is　a　century-old　school　with　profound　cultural　deposits.

The　school　has　glorious　revolutionary　tradition;　the　Party　Branch　was　set　up　in　this　school　by　the　Communist　Party　of　China　as　early　as　1938.　Martyr　Mao　Liying,　who　was　the　President　of　China's　Career　Woman　Club,　used　to　study　and　teach　in　this　school.　Now　the　school　is　the　Experimental　Point　of　Shanghai　National　Spirit　Education,　Education　Base　of　Foreign　Languages　College　of　Shanghai　Normal　University,　Shanghai　Characteristic　Base　of　Helping　the　Old　with　Loving　Heart,　Adolescent　Patriotism　Education　Base　of　Luwan　District　and　Luwan　Physical　Culture　Traditional　School.　It　is　the　civilization　unit　of　Luwan　District　and　was　conferred　the　title　of　"Municipal　and　District　Advanced　Collectivity　in　Terms　of　Moral　Education".　The　school　spirit　is　pure,　the　teaching　quality　is　stable,　and　the　teaching　quality　was　praised　by　the　district　for　many　consecutive　years.　The　satisfaction　rate　of　the　householders　on　the　school　is　more　than　98%.
