剧情

大天使Gabriel因为不满上帝将其所有注意力倾注到人类身上，计划发动一场天庭政变并杀死所有好天使。要政变成功，Gabriel必须获得一位残暴的将军的灵魂的支持，而将军的灵魂被得悉Gabriel阴谋的天使Simon附于美国小女孩Mary身上。由于天庭发生了战争，灵魂们暂不能升入天堂。Gabriel只得亲下人间寻找将军的灵魂……Thomas从神学院毕业后当了一名牧师，但由于对自己的信仰产生了怀疑，转行去当了一名警察，当他察觉Gabriel的阴谋后，联合教师Katherine一起保护懵然无知的Mary，撒旦由于担心这场战争将影响到自己的统治，他的加入使得事情更复杂了……

幕后制作

又一部以天使战争为题材的影片，在圣经里，只有Lucifer反叛了天庭，但在本片里Gabriel接过了Lucifer的革命火种。Christopher Walken饰演坏脾气的Gabriel，演出令人称道。Viggo Mortensen塑造的撒旦形象被称为有史以来最精采的撒旦之一。
