Psytrance也叫做 Psychedelic trance, 是一种电子音乐的流派。在90年代早期， 它主要从Goa trance发展而来，并逐步进入主流音乐的范围。Planet Dog record 这个厂牌下的Timeshard 和 Eat Static等被认为是对其最有影响力的Goa Trance 音乐家。最早的纯Psytrance 来自于 Dragonfly Records这个厂牌下的音乐艺人。

Psytrance音乐的速度通常较快，一般在135到150 BPM( beat per minute 拍每分钟)Psytrance强调通过音乐带来创造一种独特的氛围，而给人带来独特的精神体验。

在制作上，Psytrance通常较多地使用软件采样器，VST插件，软件音序器等，而不象它的前生Goa trance，较多使用硬件合成器。

Psytrance在英国，以色列，葡萄牙，墨西哥，德国，日本等国家最为流行。而在其他一些国家，Psytrance就没有Uplifting trance和 Progressive Trance那么流行。

很多人反对这种音乐的原因是，很多人在听Psytrance的时候喜欢同时使用精神药品，如LSD，大麻等。
