释义 | In the fourth and fifth paragraph [paragraphs] the author holds the idea that emphasizes individual. He said repetitive the same work will leads [lead] to boredom and lowered satisfaction. But in the economics the economist emphasizes the work specialization. The “enthusiastically” is a new word for me. In the dictionary I could not found [find] the “enthusiastically”, I could only found [find] the “enthusiastic” and it means “showing enthusiasm”. The meaning of the “enthusiasm” is “a feeling of energetic interest in a particular subject or activity and an eagerness to be involved in it”. And the “enthusiastically” is an adverb. In this sentence use [using] the “enthusiastically” to describe “contribute” and also to emphasize the importance of individual. In the fifth paragraph, I found an interesting word---push. Sometime we understand the meaning of the push is “to use physical pressure or force, especially with your hands, in order to move something into a different position, usually one that is further away from you”. But in here I think the push is a noun, it means pressure. And the “constant push” is opposite to “less pressure”. The author holds ideas that the reason so the high quality people stay with Compaq is that Compaq’s culture emphasizes individual responsibility for results and less pressure. But why can’t the “individual responsibility for results” understand to mean pressure. |
