| 释义 | Read the paragraph 8 to 9. When I read the paragraph 8, I felt it too difficult for me to understand. First, there are too many new words and new phrase for me. They are “judge”, “ethnic diversity”, “harassment”, “internal”, “cite”, “laid off”, “racial”, “consciousness”, “prospective” and “reluctant”. But this problem is easy to solve. Just look over the dictionary is ok. Then the second, besides these new words and phrase, I felt the sentence in this paragraph is difficult too. For example, the sentence, all most words I know. But I also can’t understand what it means. The difficulty is at “know all too well” and “of internal decisions”. I don’t know how to explain it. Then the paragraph 9, in the first sentence, there are a little part confused me. It is “making active use of the varied perspectives”. I can’t understand why the word “of” stand here. But at last, I discovered there the problem is. It is little funny. There is a phrase “make use of”. The author just put the word “active” behind “making”. And the whole phrase means that use it actively. Then I found the phrase “for instance”. Its meaning the same as example. But I never used it. |
